FYP Title Ideas for IT, Computer Science & Engineering Students (2026)

1. 1

Solve a problem someone actually has

Titles built around a real user (a clinic, a surau, a hostel office, a small business) are easier to justify in Chapter 1 and easier to test with real users.

2. 2

Pick one core feature and do it well

Examiners prefer one module that works perfectly over ten half-finished ones. Put the extra features under future work.

3. 3

Match the title to the time you have

FYP1 is usually proposal and design, FYP2 is build and evaluation. If the core system cannot be built in about eight weeks of FYP2, narrow the scope.

4. 4

   Make it measurable

Add something you can evaluate: model accuracy, response time, user satisfaction (SUS score) or time saved. It gives Chapter 5 real results.

5. 5

Use a stack you can explain

A simpler stack you understand beats a trendy one you cannot defend in the viva. Your supervisor will ask why you chose it.
